Mary's Hospital, was held this morning from the home of his mother, Mrs. Anna Ruane Carden, 1505 Adams Avenue, Dunmore. A solemn high mass oi requiem was celebrated in St. Paul's Church by Rev. Thomas Manley, assisted by Mgr.

J. J. Vaughan, deacon, and Rev. John T. Kerrigan, subdeacon.

Mrs. Rose O'Hara was the organist and James Reiley the soloist. Nuns of the Sisters of Mercy and the Immaculate Heart of Mary Orders and the Little Sisters of the Poor were seated in the church during the rites. Casket bearers were John Gib bons, Stephen Gavin, Patrick Ryan, toward Gallagher, George Murphy and Charles Foley. Honorary pall bearers were Attorney Joseph McDonald, Willard Jones, Stanley Walker.

Edward McHugh. John J. Mangan, William Cotte, Frank Cum mmgs, Dominlck Cocco, John Breslin. Peter McDonough. Edward Galla gher, Robert Gothier, Frank Murphy, Jay Brennan, John F.

Roache and Attorney Arthur Lavelle. Interment was in St John's Cemetery, Monsignor Vaughan col services at the graveside. He also visited the home last night with members of the Holy Name Society and recited the orav ers for the dead. Members of Scranton Council No. 280, Knights of Columbus, also visited the home last night and recited the rosary.

Mr. Foulkes had been employed by the Glen Alden Coal Company tor forty-five years, prior to his retirement fifteen years ago. He had made his home with his son In Kingston for the past twelve years.

He was a member of the Masonic Order and the Independent Order of Odd Fellows. In addition to his son, the deceased is survived by a daughter. Mrs. A. H.

LOWE JR. FALLS FROM MINE CAR AND STRIKES HIS HEAD AGAINST RAIL AT TAYLOR. John W. Lowe 2009 Price Street, was fatally injured when he fell from a mine car and struck his head aaainst a rail while at work yesterday afternoon in the mine of the Moiiat coal company at rayior. Lowe wasi rushed to the Moses Taylor Hospital, but he was Pro nounced dead at Z.Z5 ociock upon admittance.

An autopsy was per formed by Dr. P. E. Kubasko, Lack awanna County coroner, who said the accident victim died of a hem orrhage in the cranial cavity. The son of John and Elizabeth pioneer Scranton residents, Mr.

Lowe was a native of this city and was educated in the schools here. He was a member of Embury Methodist Church and its Sunday bchooL Surviving are his wife. Eva: a son. kJohn; a Jean; his parents; two sisters, Mrs. Edith Moses and Mrs.

Elizabeth Pierce, both of Scran ton, and five brothers, Robert and Paul, both of Scranton; Staff Ser geant Alfred, in Italy; David, i member of the United States Navy serving in the Pacific, and Private First Class DanieL stationed in China. The funeral will be held from the home of Mrs. Lowe's parents, Mr. and Mrs. William Dixon, 352 North Rebecca Avenue, at a time to be announced.
