The ordinance providing that the museum be accepted has already passed common council and at last night's tneetlng of the select branch, it passed two readings. This was the only business of the meeting and after the measure was passed on second reading, ad; Journment was taken until tonight, when It will be passed finally. For the select men to meet two evenings in succession Is unusual, to say the least, but the condition of Dr. Everhart warrants no delay, they tlilnk, and they are anxious to send him their message of official acceptance, with thanks. Burt Packard AT THE ARMORY.

The rush for seats for the Gaelic festival from the time the diagram opened yesterday morning was the greatest in the history of the Lyceum Theater and the sale was unprecedented. At 9 o'clock when the sale opened there were several hundred persons thronged around the ticket office and all day there was a steady stream of persons all anxious to secure seats for the Feis Ceoll. The success of the affair Is assured both from a musical and financial standpoint. There is no other affair of any Importance on Sunday evening (St. Patrick's Day), and It Is safe to say that nearly everybody will be at the festival In the Thirteenth Regiment armory.

Manager Smith of the Family Theater hug cancelled the regular Sunday evening band concert which was to be held at that popular house so that there would be nothing to Interfere with the success of the festival. The following excellent program will be given: PART I. Overture- Dreams of Erin L. 0. DeWltt Orcheatra.

PART II. Mill Ooldotnlth M4 LACKAWANNA AVIWUl Flw Fleore. Oxfords IALIY HILLED for Men this means only was It hoped to save Brown's life, A dozen men, co-workcrn of Brown at the Bollevue mine, volunteered their services to help keep him alive. These men worked In shlfta of six each. In relays of two.

Euch pair worked Brown's arms from ten njfaiutes to half an hour and were then relieved by two others. The work was very tiresome on the men and fatiguing on the patient. Tha loyalty of the men, however, was tho one thing that had made It jKwslble for the doctors to keep the man alive for such a length of time. The doctors hoped that within a few days nature would have absorbed the blood clot and Brown could again breathe In the natural way. Brown was injured Tuesday.

He Is a mine laborer, and Tuesday afternoon while on his way out of the mines was thrown from the motor, landing on his shoulders. The fall seems to have crushed some of the sri that he was completely paralyzed from his neck down'. At first his power of breathing was not Interfered with, but afr some five or six hours, as tho blood clot Increased In hIzo. he cpuldn breathe, and It was then found necessary to resort to the artificial respiration method. It was also necessary- to feed him through a stomach tube.

He lived at 414 Ripple street and was 44 years of age. Heroic measure were resorted to to at the Moses-Taylor hospital to save the life of William Brown, a mine worker, who was injured In the Belle-vue mine Tuesday. For seventy-two hours relays of fellow workers assisted In keeping Brown alive by inducing: artificial desplratlon. He died, however, at 8 o'clock this morning. Brown's condition was unlike anything the hospital physicians have ever had to deal with, and so far as known there is no similar case on record.

To keep a man' alive for a few hours by artificial respiration, or even to resuscitate a man who has been saved from drowning is no unusual thing, but to keep life within the body for seventy-two hours by such means is a rare thing In the history of medicine. Brown's breathing apparatus was completely paralysed, caused by a blood clot" which had formed on the upper part of the spinal cord, just below the back of the neck. To keep him alive, of course, he had to be kept breathtng. as he could. not do 'this of himself because of his condition.

Thli-efore, artificial resplratlou was necessary. This was induced by working the fcrniH continually, raising them above the head and then dropping them back down by the side.
